Lynn Olson

Lynn Olson is a senior program officer for U.S. programs, education, at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Previously, she was the managing editor of special projects at Education Week and project editor of that publication’s "Quality Counts" report. Olson spent twenty-four years as a journalist covering public education, national education policy, and assessment issues. With a grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, she published The School-to-Work Revolution: How Employers and Educators Are Joining Forces to Prepare Tomorrow’s Skilled Workforce. She graduated from Yale University, and her professional awards include those issued by the Education Writers Association, the National Association of Secondary School Principals, and the International Reading Association.
