Our subscribers have voted, and the Best Business Book of 2009 is Talent is Overrated by Geoff Colvin. Colvin discusses what really separates world-class performers from everybody else and concludes that it’s a specific kind of effort he calls “deliberate practice.”

The Harold Longman Award is named for Soundview’s first editor Harold Longman, who first conceived the idea of book summaries and applied this concept to the business book field, which was inundated with titles that busy executives didn’t have time to read.
