Tracy: Follow These Laws to Business Success
In The 100 Absolutely Unbreakable Laws of Business Success, popular business speaker and consultant Brian Tracy shares a system of "laws" that have been practiced by the most successful people in every type of enterprise, both large and small. These natural laws, he says, can be followed by anyone to achieve success.

    Eight Categories
According to Tracy, success is predictable. There are universal laws that have always existed in business and will always exist. If you violate the laws, even unknowingly, you will fail. But if you learn the laws and apply them whenever and wherever appropriate, you are "virtually guaranteed to enjoy success and prosperity in your business activities."

Tracy breaks these laws into eight categories: Life, Success, Business, Leadership, Money, Selling, Negotiating and Time Management. Within each category, Tracy explains in detail the laws that govern success in that area. Throughout, he provides real-life examples to demonstrate how the laws work and how to apply them to your life, through questions you can ask or exercises you can try.

For example, in the category of Success, Tracy puts forth the Law of Direction: "Successful people have a clear sense of purpose and direction in every area of their life." He maintains that a person's ability to set clear goals in every area of his or her life will do more to guarantee a high level of success and achievement than any other skill or quality. Then he thoroughly explains how this law can be immediately applied through a process of writing down a "Dream List" of everything you want to accomplish, then using this to set down goals and rank their importance to you. Finally, he addresses how to make a detailed plan of action for achieving those goals.

    Inspiration
The other 99 goals are similarly explained and broken down. Like the Law of Direction, they are straightforward, based on the notion that success comes not through luck, but good old-fashioned hard work. You'll find this book useful not for new insights - in fact, many of these laws will be familiar from other works by Tracy and others - but for it's inspirational and motivating style. This may be just what you need to kick-start your own rise up the ladder of success.
